Bangkok’s food scene just got a serious upgrade. Belgian chocolate maker Callebaut, the name behind many of the best pastries, desserts, and chocolate creations you’ve tasted around the world, officially launched its Signature Collection of single-origin chocolates in Thailand for the very first time.
We were invited by Jagota, the exclusive distributor bringing Callebaut to Thailand, to attend the launch on March 12, 2026, at Ventisi inside the Centara Grand at CentralWorld. And it was every bit as indulgent as you’d expect from a brand with over 100 years of chocolate-making heritage.

So, What’s the Big Deal?
If you’ve ever wondered why that chocolate croissant at your favorite Bangkok café hits different, there’s a good chance Callebaut chocolate was involved.
The brand is a go-to for pastry chefs and chocolatiers worldwide, and this new Signature Collection takes things up a notch with single-origin chocolates.
That means each chocolate can be traced back to one specific cocoa-growing region, and the flavor profiles are wildly different depending on where the beans come from.
We’re talking 10 distinct origins here, and the tasting notes read more like a wine list than a chocolate menu.
Think bittersweet dark chocolate from Venezuela with woody, complex undertones. Or a 67% dark from Madagascar, bursting with red fruit and citrus. There’s even a velvety milk chocolate from Ecuador with caramel and hazelnut notes that’s dangerously easy to love.
The collection is crafted using what Callebaut calls Low Roasting, a slow, gentle roasting process that preserves the more delicate, nuanced flavors of each origin. The result is chocolate that actually tastes like where it comes from.

What This Means for You
Here’s why this matters beyond the industry buzz: these chocolates are now available to pastry chefs and restaurants across Thailand.
That means Bangkok’s already incredible dessert scene is about to get even more interesting. Expect to see single-origin chocolate showing up on menus at high-end restaurants, specialty cafés, and artisan bakeries around the city.
Alongside the single-origin range, Callebaut also introduced new cocoa powders and their popular Crispearls, those crunchy little chocolate-coated pearls you might recognize from fancy dessert toppings. The Salted Caramel and Ruby varieties are particularly worth keeping an eye out for.
Bangkok’s Chocolate Moment
Bangkok has quietly become one of Southeast Asia’s most exciting cities for chocolate lovers. From bean-to-bar craft chocolatiers to world-class patisseries, the city’s sweet tooth has never been more refined. The arrival of Callebaut’s most premium range yet feels like perfect timing.
Next time you bite into something extraordinary at a Bangkok café or bakery, there’s a good chance a little piece of Belgium, by way of Madagascar, Ecuador, or São Tomé, made it happen.
